# Platforms

> Run sales for your clients, or for other apps of your own company, from one AgentaOS account. What a platform is and who does what.

A **platform** is an AgentaOS account that manages other businesses. You build software for other people: an agency that launches products for clients, a site builder, a marketplace of apps. Each of your clients gets its own **business** on AgentaOS. It sells under its own name, gets its own invoices and payouts, and you run it with your own API key.

AgentaOS stays the merchant of record for every sale, yours and your clients'.

## Two kinds of business

You choose when you create the business: `sameLegalEntity: true` in the SDK, `--same-company` in the CLI.

## Who does what

| Invite the client to log in (optional) | You. We email the invitation, or you send the link yourself. |
| File the business details, product and declarations | You or the client. If you file it, the review records that the platform filed it, and our reviewers see that. |
| Identity check | **Only the client.** You can generate the link and send it; you cannot complete it for them. |
| Create products, checkouts and payment links | You, acting as the business, or the client |
| Set your share of its sales | You, in the dashboard only |
| Receive its webhook events | Your own webhook endpoint, automatically |

Most clients never log in. You can run everything for them and only send them the identity check link.

Removing a business you manage, or transferring it to another platform, is not in the dashboard today. Contact us at [contact@agentaos.ai](mailto:contact@agentaos.ai).

  White-label: create the business with `sendInvitationEmail: false` and we send no email. You get `inviteUrl` back and send it to your client yourself, under your own brand.

## Acting as a business

Every API call can run as a business you manage. Send its id in the `AgentaOS-Account` header, or pass `{ business }` in the SDK, or `--business <id>` in the CLI. Without it, the call acts on your own account.

Only your own key or session may act for a business you manage. Any other id returns `403 You cannot act as this business.` See [Acting for a business](/sdk/pay-businesses#acting-for-a-business).
